Cambodia Day 3

Phnom Oudong (Oudong Mountain)
Extra info: It can be reached by National Road No. 05. Oudong is located at 40km at the northwest of Phnom Penh City.
Oudong was once the capital of Cambodia from early 17th century until 1866,  Temples, stupas and other constructions are all dotted around three hills in Oudong, which provide some great views of the countryside.

It's no doubt a great place for fresh air and peace in mind.
This is the first stupa I saw after climbing up the staircases.

The golden door.

A very good view of greenery captured there.

Cambodia is a very religious place. People make prayer every where they go. They are very loyal and devoted.
The main religion in Cambodia is Buddhism.

As we continue walking, there are more stupas and temples along the way.
This one looks much older compared to the previous. The cravings are very impressive!

The third stupa spotted. It has the face of Cambodian god on the four sides of the stupa.

The pathway.

Bravo! The Cambodian women can carry stuff on their heads. It's a very common phenomenon for them.
Look at this lady, she has lotus on her head and she's able to walk steadily in normal pace.

Other temples that looks rather cute. I never expected a temple to look like this before that.

It looks more like a house but it is a temple with Cambodian god inside.

As we walked further, there is 2 rows of erm... pond (?) full of lotus and water lily. First time in my whole life seeing real lotus in close distance!

This new temple is still under contruction. It's huge and I believe it will be amazingly eye catching upon completion.

Some other random photos took along the way.

We passed by a village-like place on our way back to our hired van.
These are some random photo taken during the walk.

The local snacks which I don't know what does it called in their language but it tastes good *thumbs up*

The girl in school uniform.

Next Destination: Mekong River
The plan was to watch sunset during our boat ride in the evening but it was a rainy day.
The boat ride is about an hour ride. It was windy and cold!
Seriously, Cambodia is cooler than I could ever imagined. The weather was Genting-like.

Most of the photos are self-explained, I don't feel like explaining much (partly is because I'm too lazy to type).

The pilot

The upper deck of the boat.
Great view from there.

Poor little birdy got wet and too cold to fly and therefore it was taking its rest on the deck.

Last destination: Naga World
Naga World is the famous casino in Cambodia.
The building is rather grand looking. One thing it's different from Malaysia's casino is that children are allowed to enter into the casino.
The only rule I heard is no photography allowed in the gambling area.

Saw this creative "Christmas Tree" before the night ends.

Good night,
Eloise S.
