Loise in Sheffield - Part 3: Manchester

It was back in June. Yeah, I can totally do all hashtag throwback way way back thingy for my posts but NO, not gonna do so. (Someone please slap me!)
Was planning to visit Manchester before I landed in England. There were for 2 reasons: to visit Manchester and to meet up that sweetie named Ching Er! <3
Thank you so much to Ching Er and friends for providing us place to stay and 6 stars rating hospitalities. You guys are the best <3 <3 <3

The main transportation I used in Manchester was bus. Secondary transportation is.....errrr..still bus...or legs?
Back to serious topic, if you are visiting any city in England, you may consider travelling using the Stagecoach buses. It has promotion of Dayrider where you only have to pay 4 pound for limitless rides in a day. (If I'm not mistaken, there's a 12 pound for a week promotion as well.)

My lil tour guide - Ching Er brought us to University of Manchester after having lunch in Chinatown. Was too hungry therefore I see no reason why I should let my camera eats before me. As a result, no photo.

The photos below were all captured around and in the compound of University of Manchester.
The university is open for public without any charge. It was during summer holiday when I visited the place so it was quiet and peaceful. I somehow got a little bit of social anxiety so I enjoy visiting places when there was no crowd.

The buildings are old english style. Although I no longer get excited when seeing buildings like this but I still cannot deny that they are beautiful.

This was taken when we entered the compound of university.
Ching Er loves this university so much and wishing that she can further her studies here. The only regret is the fees are expensive. I can feel her excitement when she brought me into the university and introduced me the buildings, familiar enough as if it's her university. She's just too cute.

I do agree that I'll definitely be pleased if I can study in an environment like this. Perhaps can score better grades? It is meant for laughing. Hahaha. Not funny? *coughs*..Let's just look at the photos.

I may get enough with the old english style buildings by now but the lamps are exceptionally interesting! They are one of the most beautifully designed...stuff.. or whatsoever..you name it.

Beside the university is where the Manchester Museum located. It is also free of charge. The museum is not too huge, like a mini heaven to history lovers. There's a lot of historical items displayed in the museum despite the size ain't gigantic. From animals to human; from west to the east.

A random shot after I left the museum. I thought the name was funny - Waterloo. Just reminds me of toilet.

Our next destination was Old Trafford a.k.a MU stadium.
*Glory Glory Man United playing in background*

(Out of topic story time: when I was editing these photos, I had a person in mind, a very good friend of mine, also a huge fan of MU.
Xian, these photos are for you. It took my whole Saturday afternoon to edit them for you. Hope you can feel how much I treasure you as my yet-to-be best friend.)

I went for the stadium tour that cost me 11++pounds with the promotion I got from my coach card. The tour worth all the pounds and pence I spent although I'm not a big fan of football. Please do not miss the tour if you're MU fans. And go ahead to visit any other stadiums if you're fan of other clubs.  (Just to avoid hatreds from other football fans. LOL) My point is, you should not missed visiting football stadium or a better choice is to watch a match in England!

This photo has nothing to do with MU tour, I just snapped it when I saw 2 persons cycling in the compound of stadium. Hope this clears your confusion. XD

The super cool looking tunnel is the pathway from the stadium to the evil megastore. A place where you'll spend everything that you precious so much - your time and money! No way you can escape being zombie-fy.

The stadium + megastore tour should take up almost half of your day in Manchester. If you're visiting Manchester, please reserve a day solely for Old Trafford only because once you finish visiting the stadium, other tourist attractions are almost nearing their closing hour.

I spent 1 and a half day in Manchester, still not enough to explore the city thoroughly.
The next day, Ching Er was busy with her chores. So her friendly housemate, ah Hao took over her position and led me to the heart of city.

Like Sheffield, Manchester has tramline service too.

This is the Wheel of Manchester. It is way smaller compared to London Eye. The place wasn't as crowded as London Eye. At least I didn't get squeezed like an orange.

Away from the Wheel of Manchester. The streets were busy with people. It is called High Street for a reason. Wide variety of brands can be found along the streets.

Further away from the High Street, this stunning view caught my eyes. Walking in Manchester is like walking through time machine. In a glance, you see modern buildings; when you turn your head to the other side, you see old buildings.

Here we came to Manchester Cathedral. The design is almost same as Sheffield's.

I am so gonna miss the blue blue sky in England once I leave this place. Oh dear =(

This is another part in the heart of city. Some place on our way to Albert Square. It was purely a random city sightseeing walk.

Finally, my last destination - the Albert Square. This is the place where my camera battery ran out. Lesson learnt, do not be overconfident with your camera battery. Luckily it's the last destination. =D

Happy National Day Malaysia!
I'm playing Tanggal Tiga Puluh Satu  and Jalur Gemilang song alone in my room
T.T
Never knew I miss celebrating National Day till I'm miles away from home country.

Cheers,
Eloise S.
